Frequently Asked Questions

Who Benefits From My Purchase?

Consequence is an independently owned media company. By purchasing an item from our webstore, you are directly supporting the staff at Consequence and our pursuit of high-quality music, film, and television journalism.

Additionally, we recently launched Consequence Give Back to support independent music venues, as well as artists, during this unprecedented global crisis. As part of the initiative, we are committing a portion of all proceeds to the independent music community.

How long does will it take my order to ship?

You can expect your order to arrive in 5-7 business days for existing products. Pre-order items will ship four-five weeks from launch, with delivery expected 5-7 business days after that.

What Type of Face Masks Are You Selling?

Unless otherwise noted, our face masks are level two progressional grade. They are intentionally tight-fitting to guard against light to moderate amounts of fluid, spray and/or aerosols.

Is the Mask Material Really Made from Recyclable Plastic Bottles?

Unless otherwise noted, our masks are made using polyester fabric engineered yarns spun from recycled bottles.

Masks printed with authentic One Planet fabric prevent plastic bottles from entering landfills or oceans. They also avoid the use of crude oil, reducing our reliance on petrochemicals. There is also a reduction of over 50% in the release of carbon dioxide during production. And to top it off, 85% less energy is used during manufacturing.

So how many bottles will your mask save? It’s actually a very simple mathematical calculation. There are 45 bottles per every kilogram of yarn, which translates into 1 bottle per square foot of One Planet fabric.

Why Are You Selling CBD?

Consequence of Sound began 13 years ago as a music publication. In the decade that followed, the publication has expanded its coverage scope to include other pop culture verticals, including film and television. Now, as Consequence of Sound officially rebrands itself as simply Consequence, the publication is launching a new content vertical dedicated to health and wellness, which includes an exclusive line of CBD and hemp products.

What Type of CBD Do You Sell?

Our products are harvested from reputable greenhouses and small family farms, which use ecologically sustainable methods to grow strains of hemp with profiles rich in cannabinoids and terpenes. All of our products are organic, naturally processed, non-GMO, and lab tested to ensure purity and potency.

Does the CBD Contain THC?

Unless otherwise noted, our products are full-spectrum CBD. Full-spectrum means that an oil or product contains all the cannabinoids that are naturally occurring in the cannabis plant. Quality full-spectrum CBD products are typically high in CBD, with only trace amounts of minor cannabinoids, and very low in THC (less than 0.3%). Despite these relatively low amounts, the overall composition is considered “full spectrum” and is synonymous with the "entourage effect" – which refers to the increased effectiveness of these products due to the different cannabinoids working synergistically.

Is CBD Legal?

The signing of the Farm Bill in December 2018 legalized CBD that is derived from hemp and contains no more than 0.3% THC.

That said, although CBD derived from Hemp is now federally legal, many cities and states still haven’t caught up with the federal laws and are awaiting specific guidance from the FDA, which is expected sometime in 2020-2021.

For now, though, we are unable to ship CBD to the following seven states: Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, and South Dakota. We also cannot ship to Washington, DC or Puerto Rico. Stay tuned for updates on when we will be able to ship to these locations.

What is Delta-8 THC?

Delta-8 THC is a powerful cannabinoid native to the cannabis hemp flower. Though typically found in only very small amounts (compared to the more common Delta-9 THC) it's a very well-known psychotropic cannabinoid relative. While Delta-8 has similar effects to Delta-9, it's about 50% to 75% less potent, making it an easier, more tolerable version of traditional THC. Delta-8-THC is an isomer of CBD, a derivative of hemp and CBD, ultimately contained in our extracts with less than 0.3% Delta-9-THC.

What are the effects of Delta-8 THC?

The main value of this cannabinoid lies in its low potency, which translates into lower psychoactivity. When taken in high doses, Delta-8 THC has shown to cause lower levels of anxiety than its relative Delta-9 THC. Researchers have concluded that generally speaking, Delta-8 THC produces similar psychoactive effects to Delta-9-THC, simply at a more manageable intensity.

Like traditional THC, Delta-8 is often described as providing a soothing physical ease without impacting mental clarity. Keeping users' heads clear while delivering semi-sedative relaxation allows it to be easily used for day-to-day activities, bringing with it a heightened acuteness of the world around you.

Is Delta-8 THC Legal?:

The 2018 Farm Bill specifically made all derivatives, isomers, and cannabinoids in hemp legal, provided the final product has less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC. As our Delta-8 is derived from unflowered hemp plant (CBD) and our extracts contain less than the legal limits of Delta-9 THC, it falls within those guidelines. However, it cannot be shipped to Canada.
